The Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), dates back to November 15, 2006 – see GU L327 -; it was a decision of the European Parliament and Council. It combines all cooperation initiatives Europe wide in the field of education and schooling in the time period 2007 – 2013. It has replaced, integrated and united the previous Socrates and Leonardo programs (1995-2006). |
Its primary goal is to contribute through lifelong learning to the Community development this being advanced and based on knowledge, with a sustainable economic improvement, new and better jobs, major social cohesion and grant the protection of the environment to the future generations (Lisbon Strategy).
It particularly aims at the support of exchanges, cooperation and mobility of educational and training systems in the Union so that they will be a quality reference in the world.
